Australian Customs does not specifically state "Hentai" per se. However, it does say publications, films, computer games, or any goods that depict sex that offends the morality and decency of reasonable adults including bestiality and sexual violence.

J-List, a Japanese retailer that does that supply adult-oriented anime items, said that they were contacted by DHL Japan informing them that Australia started rejected packages containing adult products. The retailer was further advised by DHL Japan to stop sending products to Australia. Adult items that were rejected included hentai manga, doujinshi, cast-off figurines, JAV DVDs, and any product marked with a +18 rating.

The move to ban Hentai follows the sentiment of Australian politician Stirling Griff that there was an overwhelming number of adult animes that sexualize characters that look like children. The Australian Classification Board was questioned on how these animes slip through. The Board stated that since they were animated and fictional, Hentai was not flagged in the current rating system.

HMD Global is planning to revive the Nokia 6300 and 8000 soon!
another revival coming soon?

The comeback of Nokia 6300 and 8000 series

According to WinFuture, it's planning to do the same thing with these units: Nokia 6300 and 8000. That info has been backed up by information found on the site of a Danish carrier called Telia whose list of devices with support for Wi-Fi calling include the yet-to-be-announced Nokia 6300 4G and Nokia 8000 4G.

It was year 2007 in which the smartphone manufacturer launched the Nokia 6300. It's a brick phone that is equipped with a two-inch LCD display, four input buttons, and a 2MP back camera. But then months later Apple released the first iPhone that possible led to Nokia's downfall.

WinFuture reported that HMD Global is resurrecting the iconic phone soon in line with its objective to expand the series of revived classics. In addition to this, they're also gearing to create a new device based on Nokia 8000 lineup. Even though Nokia 6300 is keeping its name, the comeback of the latter is inspired by the whole series of slide phones.

It’s not yet confirmed if these will run KaiOS like some HMD's current line-up. The leak stated that both models will sport 4G connectivity and a smarter system compared to their respective originals. Moreover, both devices are supposed to be unveiled in the coming few weeks.

Stay tuned for more details.

Huawei devices to use MediaTek Dimensity?

Huawei has reportedly purchased large numbers of MediaTek chips

MediaTek has been supplying Huawei with entry-level smartphone chips for years now. BBecause of the escalating ban on Huawei, MediaTek made an application to the United States government at the end of August 2020. This application is so that MediaTek can supply chips after September 15.

IThome reports that Huawei has purchased a massive number of 5G MediaTek Dimensity chips that the deal was finalized in September before the ban of manufacturing Kirin chips has taken effect. The report claims that the massive orders are evident in MediaTek's quarterly sales results that showed an increase in both revenue and an increase in net profit Year-on-Year at approximately 45 percent and 94 percent improvement.

This is exciting news since we are going to be able to see Huawei flagships and mid-range phones with MediaTek's new SoC.

Leak: 200W+ charging could be a thing in 2021 (as if we need it)

  • A new leak suggests that we could see 200W+ charging phones in 2021.
  • This would be almost double the speed of the fastest charging solutions right now.

Phone charging speeds have made tremendous leaps in recent years, moving from 30W and 40W in 2018 to 65W and even 120W in the last 12 months. This means you can charge your phone in under 30 minutes if you’ve got something like the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra.

Now, regular tipster Digital Chat Station has claimed on Weibo that 2021 could see even faster speeds. The leaker notes that we won’t be getting a Mi Mix 4 from Xiaomi anytime soon, but that 200W+ charging systems could be available next year. Check out a screenshot of the machine-translated post.

120W charging already delivers mega-fast results, with the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra’s 4,500mAh battery charging in 21 minutes. But we noted in our review that the phone generates a ton of heat while charging. We’re also worried about battery degradation at these speeds, as even Oppo has revealed some disappointing degradation stats for its 125W charging solution.

We’re not quite sure if 200W charging is therefore the best move, as it could theoretically generate even more heat and battery degradation than 120W+ charging. So hopefully we see Xiaomi and other brands optimize 50W+ charging solutions for speed and battery health before looking ahead to 200W.

The translated post also suggests that in-folding foldables and phones with under-display selfie cameras are in the works for next year. Xiaomi has already confirmed the latter, but a commercially available foldable would be big news for the brand. Xiaomi previously demonstrated a dual-folding device, so a Galaxy Fold-style form factor would be a departure for it. The Chinese brand also has a reputation for competitive pricing, so hopefully it can come in cheaper than Samsung’s foldables.
