Next-generation QLED 8K TV for 2020
Samsung The Frame TV |
Samsung began the virtual seminar by introducing the Samsung QLED 8K TV for 2020. It features the Samsung Quantum Processor 8K with AI that enables several new features like Active Voice Amplifier (AVA), Deep Learning Super Resolution (DLSR), Object Tracking Sound+ (OTS+), AI upscaling (from FHD, UHD, 8K native upscaled to 8K), Bixby, Amazon Alexa and Google Assitant integrations, and Real Game Enhancer+.
Like previous QLED TV's it uses Samsung's Quantum Dot Technology that the company says delivers over a billion shades of color at any brightness level. It also supports Quantum HDR 16X or HDR10+
8K AI Upscaling automatically analyzes the input source may it be FHD, UHD or Native 8K and it then reduces image noise, restores lost detail and defines the edges around objects and text.
Adaptive Picture analyzes the picture and the room's lighting conditions and adjusts the picture quality for the optimized viewing experience.
Active Voice Amplifier or AVA technology analyzes the ambient noise and enhances the voices in the ongoing scene to make dialogue even clearer in a noise environment.
Lastly, the new QLED 8K TV will be powered by Samsung's Tizen OS and not AndroidTV.
The Frame
The Frame |
The first of Samsung's Lifestyle models, the Frame is Samsung's Art-inspired TVs with a flat design that can be mounted or hung on a wall like a picture frame. You can even personalize from a wide selection of interchangeable snap-on customizable frames that add to the hanging painting/artwork appeal. These snap-on frames attach to the outer bezels of The Frame to match your home and decor using the 4 different color options.
The Frame comes with an Art Mode 3.0 which allows customers to pick high-resolution images of artworks from thousands of art galleries worldwide and will display these images like a slide-show. It even comes with an AI-powered automatic selection mode that scans your picks and will slide-show other arts that the AI thinks you will like as well.
It now comes with a new stand a new no-gap wall mount.
The Sero
The Sero |
The Sero is Samsung's way of adding a smartphone twist to a modern TV. Sero is Korean for Vertical. This means that the Sero is a QLED TV that rotates from Landscape to Portrait orientation with a built-in motor. This allows the Sero's display to better accommodate vertical videos seen on Instagram, TikTok and other social media platforms.
It includes an NFC chip for one-tap pairing with smartphones for easy content sharing.
It comes with an easel-like floor stand that houses the built-in motor and the 60-watt, 4.1-channel speaker system.
The Serif
The Serif |
Next up in Samsung's Lifestyle line of TV's is The Serif. Whereas The Frame takes its inspiration from paintings, The Serif takes it from impressive sculptures. It is designed to be a stylized section of the letter 'I.'
There is no word exact date yet when the new TVs from Samsung will arrive in the Philippines nor is there information on local pricing.
