South Korean price and pre-order details of LG Velvet announced

Ahead of its scheduled online launch later, LG has revealed the South Korean price and pre-order details of the LG Velvet.

The LG Velvet is the company's newest 5G-ready mid-ranger featuring a new design. It highlights a 3D Arc Design that uses a premium aluminum metal back with the front-back symmetrical curves in Aurora White, Aurora Gray, Aurora Green, and Illusion Sunset colors. The back also comes with the new "Raindrop" camera design with sensors that are descending order by size.

LG said that the new design is to make the phone look better and feel better to hold.

In terms of specs, the handset features a notch 6.8-inch 20:5:9 curved OLED screen with FHD+ resolution and an In-Display fingerprint reader. It is powered by the 7nm EUV Snapdragon 765G octa-core chip with up to 2.4GHz clock speed and Adreno 620 GPU. LG paired it with 8GB RAM, 128GB expandable storage up to 1TB via microSD card, and 4,300mAh battery with USB-C 10W charging.

For cameras, it goes with a 48MP main + 8MP ultra-wide, and 5MP depth triple-cam. In front, there's a 16MP selfie shooter.

The handset also comes with a stereo speaker setup, 3.5mm headphone jack slot, dual-band WiFi ax, 5G NSA/SA, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and dual SIM slots.

It runs with Android 10 OS out of the box. 

In South Korea, the device is priced at KRW 899,800 or around PHP 37K out of direct conversion. Pre-order starts from May 8 until May 14, 2020. Sales will start on May 15. Those who pre-order the LG Velvet will get either an LG Furycare Mini Air Purifier, Character Accessory Pack, or a Gimba (gimbal).
