Globe removes consumer 3G SIMs across distribution chains
This was part of the Ayala-led firm's target of delivering better telco services through 4G LTE.
Globe Executive Vice President for Channel Management Bernie Llamzon urged the group's customers to embrace 4G LTE/5G-ready SIMs to maximize the network's performance.
Subscribers may check if they are still using 2G and 3G SIMs by texting SIM CHECK to 8080. If they want to upgrade to 4G LTE SIMs, Globe said they may set an online appointment or through the GlobeOne App before proceeding to the Globe Store for SIM replacement.
Our Stores and partner retailers are ready to make this switch easy, convenient, and safe for our customers, Llamzon said.
Postpaid 3G users, on the other hand, can just tap the GlobeOne app to request for SIM change. The new SIM will be delivered to their registered address by a courier.
