  • The purported Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite has appeared in an FCC listing.
  • The device sports onboard GPS, a heart-rate monitor, and water resistance.
  • It may also launch as a Redmi wearable in some markets.

Xiaomi may soon add to its wearable offerings after details of a new watch emerged in an FCC listing. Believed to be the Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite, the device will seemingly prop up the firm’s wearable range.

Spotted by XDA, the listing suggests the watch will feature a 230mAh battery, built-in GPS, a 1.41-inch rectangular display, and continuous heart-rate monitoring.

The device also features water resistance up to 50 meters with “swimming stroke recognition.” For land-lovers, there are “multiple” fitness modes, too, but the listing doesn’t shed light on which activities can be tracked. If it’s anything like the Mi Watch, expect walking, running, and climbing to be included on the list.

Both Android and iOS users will be serviced by the watch, but there’s no indication of what OS it runs. Again, if it really is a “lite” Mi Watch, expect it to run the MIUI For Watch skin on top of Wear OS.

There’s no word on when the rumored Mi Watch Lite will make its debut or how much it will cost. Judging by its model number, it may debut with a Redmi moniker in some markets. With that being said, it could carry a lower price than the ~$194 Mi Watch.
