- The Poco M2 is launching a day after the Poco X3 NFC.
- All signs point to a cheaper device than the Poco M2 Pro.
Xiaomi’s Poco sub-brand confirmed that the Poco X3 NFC will be launching on September 7, but it looks like the brand will have one more smartphone to show off next week as well.
The Poco India Twitter account has revealed that it’ll be launching the Poco M2 on Flipkart on September 8. So what do we know about this new phone, then?
It’s time to change all your WTF moments to #PowerFTW moments.
Get ready, the #POCOM2 is arriving on 08th September at 12 noon on @Flipkart.

The Poco India Twitter account and Flipkart teaser page don’t give us much to go on, but we do see a waterdrop notch rather than a punch-hole cutout or pop-up selfie camera seen on prior Poco devices in 2020. The Flipkart page also shows a sizeable chin. Otherwise, the teaser page hints at longer battery life and a bigger display.
Everything from the name (no “Pro” here) to the waterdrop notch suggests that this is positioned below the Poco M2 Pro as well. That phone came in at Rs. 13,999 (~$192), so we’re expecting the standard Poco M2 to come in below that mark.
We wouldn’t be surprised if the Poco M2 is a rebranded Redmi phone, as the Pro variant was essentially a tweaked Redmi Note 9 Pro. But hopefully the Xiaomi sub-brand has an all-new proposition for us.
